Jan Wagner (born 1971 in Hamburg) is poet and translator of poetry from English (including Charles Simic, James Tate, Simon Armitage, Jo Shapcott, Louis MacNeice, Kevin Young). He has studied English and American studies in Hamburg, Dublin and Berlin. Worked as a freelance reviewer for various newspapers (ex. Frankfurter Rundschau and Tagesspiegel) and co-published the international literature box DIE AUSSENSEITE DES ELEMENTES until 2003. He has lived in Berlin since 1995. Jan has written 2 books of poetry, has translated four  and is editor of two more.
