Milan Jesih, born in 1950, is an author of poetry and plays for the stage, radio and television. As a translator, he has published a few dozen translations of theatre plays by Shakespeare, Chekhov, Gorki, Bulgakov, Babelj, Kleist and a number of contemporary plays from the Russian, English and South Slavonic languages.
