Vladimir Levchev, born October 17, 1957, in Sofia, is a Bulgarian poet and writer. He is the author of 15 books of poetry published in Bulgaria, five in the United States, one in Macedonia, one in Italy, and three novels. In 1994 he won a Fulbright scholarship. Levchev received an MFA in creative writing from American University in Washington, DC. During his stay in the US, Levchev taught literature and writing at several universities. He is also a translator of poetry and journalist. Levchev is an Associate Professor of Literature and Writing at the American University in Bulgaria.
